A juicy, bunless Viral Dutchman Burger stacked with two seasoned beef patties, melted cheddar cheese, crisp lettuce, fresh tomato, red onion, pickles, and creamy burger sauce. Bold, satisfying, and packed with flavor in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound (450 grams) ground beef, 80 percent lean
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 to 6 large lettuce leaves
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 to 6 pickle slices
  • 1/4 cup (60 grams) burger sauce

Instructions

  1. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and gently shape into patties without overworking the meat.
  2. Season both sides of each patty with salt and black pepper just before cooking.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium high heat and lightly oil if needed.
  4. Place patties in the hot skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side until browned and cooked through to 160°F (71°C).
  5. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and allow it to melt fully.
  6. Remove patties from the skillet and let them rest for 2 minutes.
  7. To assemble, stack two patties with melted cheese between them, then top with tomato slices, red onion, pickles, and burger sauce.
  8. Wrap tightly with large lettuce leaves and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Do not press down on patties while cooking to keep them juicy.
  • Use sturdy lettuce leaves such as iceberg or butter lettuce for better structure.
  • Allow the patties to rest before assembling to keep juices inside.
  • Adjust sauce quantity to your taste preference.
