  • 12 slices bread, lightly toasted
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 cup crushed tomatoes
  • 2 medium ripe avocados, mashed
  • 1 cup hummus
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon dried Italian herbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit if toasting bread in the oven, or prepare a toaster.
  2. Toast bread slices until golden and lightly crisp at the edges while remaining slightly soft in the center.
  3. In a small bowl, mix olive oil with dried Italian herbs.
  4. Place balsamic vinegar in a separate small bowl.
  5. Season mashed avocado with salt and black pepper and place in its own bowl.
  6. Arrange crushed tomatoes, hummus, and softened butter each in separate small bowls.
  7. Arrange all bowls evenly on a large serving board.
  8. Fan or stack the toasted bread neatly around the bowls.
  9. Serve immediately while the toast is warm and crisp.
