A cozy and indulgent baked gnocchi dish layered with marinara cream sauce and four rich cheeses, baked until bubbly and golden. Perfect for a comforting family dinner or an easy crowd-pleasing meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 ounces potato gnocchi
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Cook the potato gnocchi according to package instructions, about 2 to 3 minutes until they float. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the marinara sauce and heavy cream, mixing until smooth and gently heated through.
  5. Add the cooked gnocchi to the skillet and stir gently to coat in the sauce.
  6. Transfer half of the gnocchi mixture to a 9 by 13 inch baking dish. Spoon dollops of ricotta evenly over the top and sprinkle with half of the mozzarella, parmesan, and provolone.
  7. Add the remaining gnocchi mixture and top with the remaining cheeses.
  8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until bubbly and lightly golden on top.
  9. Remove from the oven, sprinkle with chopped fresh basil, and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Do not overcook the gnocchi before baking to keep them tender.
  • Use freshly grated parmesan for smoother melting.
  • For extra golden color, broil for 1 to 2 minutes at the end while watching closely.
