Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken, cut into bite sized pieces
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 3 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat 3 cups vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 350°F.
  2. In a bowl, mix 1 cup all purpose flour, 1/4 cup cornstarch, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon paprika, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper.
  3. Dip the 1 pound chicken pieces into 2 beaten eggs, then coat thoroughly in the flour mixture.
  4. Place coated chicken on a plate, pressing lightly so the coating adheres.
  5. Fry chicken in batches for 4 to 5 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a wire rack to drain.
  6. In a small saucepan, gently warm 1/3 cup honey with 2 tablespoons hot sauce and 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes.
  7. Toss the fried chicken in the hot honey glaze until evenly coated.
  8. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon sesame seeds and 1 tablespoon chopped parsley, then serve immediately.

Notes

  • Fry in small batches to maintain oil temperature and crispiness.
  • Toss in the glaze just before serving to keep the coating crunchy.
  • Adjust the hot sauce to control the spice level.
