This Gourmet Black Angus Truffle Burger is rich, juicy, and layered with earthy sautéed mushrooms, melted cheese, fresh arugula, and creamy truffle aioli. Served on a toasted brioche bun, it delivers a restaurant quality burger experience right at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Black Angus ground beef, divided into 2 thick patties
  • 2 brioche burger buns
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh arugula
  • 2 slices Swiss or provolone cheese
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon truffle oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium high heat and add olive oil.
  2. In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise and truffle oil to create the truffle aioli. Set aside.
  3. Season the beef patties on both sides with salt and black pepper.
  4. Place the patties in the hot skillet and cook for 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium doneness.
  5. Add cheese slices during the last minute of cooking to allow them to melt.
  6. Remove patties from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes.
  7. In the same skillet, sauté the sliced mushrooms until golden and tender.
  8. Lightly toast the brioche buns.
  9. Spread truffle aioli on the toasted buns.
  10. Layer arugula, the cheesy patty, and sautéed mushrooms on the bottom bun. Top with the remaining bun and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Do not overwork the beef when forming patties to keep them tender.
  • A small indentation in the center of each patty helps prevent puffing during cooking.
  • Let the burger rest before assembling to retain juices.
  • Use truffle oil sparingly, as a little goes a long way.
