Golden fried milk bread cream sandwiches filled with lightly sweet whipped cream, crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 thick slices milk bread
  • 1 cup cold heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whip the cold heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  2. Spread a thick layer of whipped cream onto one slice of milk bread and top with another slice, pressing gently and sealing the edges.
  3. Set up a coating station with flour in one bowl, beaten eggs mixed with milk in another bowl, and breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium heat to about 175 degrees Celsius.
  5. Lightly coat each sandwich in flour, dip into the egg and milk mixture, then coat evenly with breadcrumbs.
  6. Carefully place the coated sandwich into the hot oil.
  7. Fry for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  9. Slice in half and serve warm.

Notes

  • Seal the bread edges well to prevent cream from leaking.
  • Maintain medium heat to avoid burning the exterior.
  • Do not overwhip the cream to keep it smooth and light.
