A rich and velvety mocha made with bold espresso, melted dark chocolate, a hint of refreshing mint, and creamy steamed milk for the perfect cozy café-style drink at home.

Ingredients

  • 2 shots espresso (about 60 ml)
  • 1 cup whole milk (240 ml)
  • 1 ounce dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon pure mint extract
  • 2 tablespoons whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brew 2 shots of espresso and set aside.
  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, warm 1 cup whole milk until steaming but not boiling.
  3. Add the finely chopped dark chocolate to the warm milk and whisk until fully melted and smooth.
  4. Whisk in 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder and 1 to 2 teaspoons sugar until completely dissolved.
  5. Stir in 1/8 teaspoon pure mint extract and mix well.
  6. Pour the brewed espresso into the chocolate milk mixture and whisk gently to combine.
  7. Transfer to a mug, top with whipped cream if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use high-quality dark chocolate for deeper flavor.
  • Add mint extract gradually, as a small amount is enough.
  • Do not boil the milk to maintain a smooth and creamy texture.
