Golden crispy tofu cubes coated in sesame seeds and drizzled with a sweet and savory glaze, perfect as a snack, appetizer, or light meal.

  • 14 ounces extra firm tofu, pressed and cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/3 cup sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Toss tofu cubes with soy sauce and sesame oil. Sprinkle with cornstarch, garlic powder, and black pepper and coat evenly.
  3. Roll each tofu cube in sesame seeds, pressing gently so they stick.
  4. Cook tofu in a single layer for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden and crispy on all edges.
  5. Mix honey and rice vinegar and drizzle lightly over the cooked tofu.
  6. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Press tofu thoroughly for best texture.
  • Do not overcrowd the skillet.
  • Reheat in oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness.
