Golden and crispy on the outside with a warm, creamy center, this fried brie drizzled with honey is the perfect sweet and savory appetizer that feels elegant yet effortless.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces brie cheese wheel, cold and firm
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • About 2 cups vegetable oil, for frying
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C) and line a plate with paper towels.
  2. Season the breadcrumbs with salt and black pepper and place flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs into three separate shallow bowls.
  3. Roll the chilled brie wheel in flour, coating evenly.
  4. Dip the brie into the beaten eggs, ensuring full coverage.
  5. Coat thoroughly in breadcrumbs, then repeat the egg and breadcrumb steps for a double coating.
  6. Carefully fry the brie for 2 to 3 minutes, turning gently, until golden brown on all sides.
  7. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain briefly on paper towels. Let rest for 1 minute.
  8. Drizzle honey over the warm brie and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Chill the brie for at least 20 minutes before coating to prevent leaking.
  • Double coating helps create a stronger crispy crust.
  • Do not overheat the oil to avoid melting too quickly.
  • Serve immediately for the best creamy texture.
