  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons warm water
  • 4 ounces dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare your steamer by filling it with water and bringing it to a gentle simmer.
  2. In a heat safe bowl, combine the chopped dark chocolate, heavy cream, unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and cocoa powder.
  3. Heat gently in short intervals, stirring until smooth and fully melted.
  4. Refrigerate the chocolate mixture for about 20 minutes until slightly firm but still scoopable.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the all purpose flour and warm water until a soft dough forms.
  6. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth, then cover and let rest for 20 minutes.
  7. Divide the dough into small portions and roll each into thin circles.
  8. Place a spoonful of chilled chocolate filling in the center of each wrapper and pleat tightly to seal.
  9. Arrange dumplings on parchment lined steamer trays, leaving space between each.
  10. Steam for 8 to 10 minutes until wrappers are tender and slightly translucent.
  11. Remove carefully and allow to cool for 1 to 2 minutes before serving warm.
