Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked chicken, chopped (about 450 grams)
  • 4 cups broccoli florets, lightly steamed (about 400 grams)
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup, 10.5 ounces (300 grams)
  • 1 cup sour cream (240 grams)
  • 1/2 cup milk (120 milliliters)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (3 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (6 grams)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (1 gram)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (170 grams)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
  2. In a large bowl, mix cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  3. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. Spread cooked rice evenly in the bottom of the dish.
  5. Layer steamed broccoli over the rice, then add chopped cooked chicken.
  6. Pour the creamy mixture evenly over the layers and spread gently.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  8. Bake uncovered for 30 to 35 minutes until hot and bubbly and cheese is lightly golden.
  9. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Drain broccoli well after steaming to prevent excess moisture.
  • Use freshly cooked and slightly cooled rice for best texture.
  • For a golden top, broil for 2 to 3 minutes at the end while watching carefully.
