Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a mixing bowl combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning until just mixed.
  3. Form into 12 evenly sized meatballs.
  4. Add olive oil to the skillet and brown meatballs on all sides, about 6 to 8 minutes.
  5. Pour marinara sauce over the meatballs, cover, and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes until fully cooked.
  6. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top, cover, and cook until melted and bubbly.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Avoid overmixing the meat to keep meatballs tender.
  • Simmer gently to prevent sauce from burning.
  • Add cheese at the end to prevent over melting.
