Crispy air fryer buffalo wings tossed in a buttery hot sauce, delivering bold flavor and juicy texture without deep frying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings (about 900 grams), split into flats and drumettes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (about 60 grams), melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the wings with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and baking powder until evenly coated.
  4. Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping.
  5. Air fry for 20 to 24 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are crispy and reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  6. In a separate bowl, whisk together the hot sauce and melted butter.
  7. Transfer the hot wings to a clean bowl and toss with the buffalo sauce until evenly coated.
  8. Serve immediately while crispy and glossy.

Notes

  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket for maximum crispiness.
  • Toss wings in sauce just before serving to keep the skin crisp.
  • For extra crisp texture, cook an additional 2 minutes if needed.
