Golden, crispy strawberry waffles topped with fresh berries and maple syrup. A bright and comforting breakfast that feels café worthy yet easy to make at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all purpose flour (250 grams)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cups milk (420 milliliters)
  • 2 large eggs (about 100 grams)
  • 1/2 cup melted butter (115 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced (225 grams)
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup (60 milliliters)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the waffle iron according to manufacturer instructions.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, whisk milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla. Combine wet and dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  3. Lightly grease the waffle iron if needed.
  4. Pour enough batter into the center to cover the grid without overflowing.
  5. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes until golden and crisp.
  6. Transfer to a wire rack and repeat with remaining batter.
  7. Top with sliced strawberries and drizzle with maple syrup before serving.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the batter to keep waffles fluffy.
  • Place cooked waffles on a wire rack to maintain crispness.
  • Reheat leftovers in a toaster for best texture.
