Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup apple juice
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Instructions

  1. Place a small saucepan over low heat.
  2. Add the milk and apple juice to the saucepan.
  3. Stir gently as the liquid begins to warm.
  4. Add the honey or maple syrup, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, vanilla extract, and cinnamon stick.
  5. Heat for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring often, until the mixture is warm but not boiling.
  6. Remove the cinnamon stick.
  7. Pour into mugs and serve warm.
