Crispy on the outside and cheesy on the inside, these tuna cheese patties are a quick and satisfying dish made with pantry staples. Perfect for snacks, light meals, or lunchboxes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (5 oz each) canned tuna, drained
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Olive oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Place a non-stick skillet on medium heat and let it warm while you prepare the patties.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the drained tuna, shredded cheese, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, parsley, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and egg. Mix gently until just combined.
  3. Add a light layer of olive oil to your skillet and let it heat up.
  4. Form the tuna mixture into palm-sized patties and press them gently into shape.
  5. Fry the patties in batches, cooking each side for 3–4 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Transfer the cooked patties to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite dip or side salad.

Notes

  • Chill the mixture before shaping for firmer patties.
  • Use a cookie scoop for even-sized portions.
  • Try adding a pinch of smoked paprika for deeper flavor.
