Ingredients

Scale
  • 14 oz kielbasa, sliced
  • 12 oz elbow macaroni, cooked al dente
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
  2. Cook macaroni until al dente. In a skillet, brown kielbasa slices and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter. Stir in flour and cook 1 minute. Slowly whisk in cream and milk until smooth.
  4. Add garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir in cheddar and mozzarella until melted and smooth.
  5. Combine cooked pasta and kielbasa with the cheese sauce. Pour into casserole dish and top with parmesan.
  6. Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and golden. Broil for 2 minutes if desired.
  7. Let rest 5–10 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated cheese for better melting and flavor.
  • Don’t overcook the pasta — it continues cooking while baking.
  • Try adding sautéed vegetables like bell peppers or spinach for extra flavor and color.
