Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat until hot but not smoking.
  2. In a large bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, sugar, milk, and salt, mixing until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and ground cinnamon.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the sweet potato mixture and stir gently until a soft dough forms.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of dough carefully into the hot oil, frying in small batches.
  6. Fry the dumplings until golden brown on all sides, turning gently as needed.
