Soft baked bread rolled with a creamy spinach and cheese filling, golden on the outside and rich and comforting on the inside.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix spinach, mozzarella, ricotta, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Roll the prepared dough on a floured surface into a large rectangle.
  4. Spread the spinach and cheese mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border.
  5. Roll the dough tightly into a loaf and seal the edges.
  6. Place seam side down on the baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Let cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Squeeze excess moisture from spinach to avoid a soggy filling.
  • Use freshly grated cheese for best melting.
  • Let the bread rest before slicing for clean cuts.
