  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 3/4 cup whole milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut the cold butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the grated cheese until evenly distributed.
  5. Gradually add the milk and gently mix until a soft dough forms.
  6. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface, pat into a circle, and cut into wedges.
  7. Place the wedges on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 18 to 22 minutes until golden.
  8. Remove from the oven, cool slightly, and serve warm.
