Salted Honeycrisp Fritters

Salted Honeycrisp Fritters are crispy apple fritters made with sweet-tart Honeycrisp apples, fried to golden perfection, drizzled with glaze, and finished with a sprinkle of flaky sea salt.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 Honeycrisp apples, peeled and diced
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar, 2–3 tbsp milk, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Flaky sea salt, for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, beat eggs, milk, and vanilla. Stir wet ingredients into dry until just combined. Fold in diced apples.
  3. In a deep pot or fryer, heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Drop batter by heaping spoonfuls into hot oil. Fry 2–3 minutes per side until deep golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  5. For glaze, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Dip warm fritters in glaze or drizzle over top, then sprinkle with flaky sea salt.

Notes

  • Do not overmix batter — a few lumps are fine.
  • Best served the same day for optimal crispness.
  • You can rewarm fritters in a 300°F oven for 5–7 minutes.
