- 40 saltine crackers
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon flaky sea salt
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the brown sugar and stir constantly until the mixture begins to boil. Boil for 3 minutes without stirring.
- Pour the hot caramel evenly over the crackers and spread with a spatula to cover.
- Bake for 5 minutes until the caramel is bubbling. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the top. Let sit for 2 minutes, then spread the melted chocolate into a smooth layer.
- Sprinkle the flaky sea salt over the warm chocolate. Allow to cool completely at room temperature or refrigerate until set.
- Break into bite-sized pieces and serve.
