A refreshing blend of sweet peaches, robust black tea, and a splash of lemon, this Peach Iced Tea is the perfect summer cooler.

Ingredients

  • Fresh Peaches: 3 large, sliced – infuse the tea with juicy, floral sweetness.
  • Water: 6 cups (1.4 liters) – the base for steeping tea and simmering fruit.
  • Black Tea Bags: 4 – provide a robust, tannic backbone.
  • Granulated Sugar: ½ cup (100g) – sweetens and balances the tannins.
  • Lemon Juice: 2 tbsp – adds acidity and brightness.
  • Ice Cubes: as needed – chills the tea and adds refreshment.
  • Fresh Mint (optional): a few sprigs – offers a cool herbal finish.

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Prepare your saucepan and pitcher. No oven required for this one!
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a saucepan, add sliced peaches, sugar, and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes. Lightly mash the peaches to release flavor.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Remove from heat, add tea bags, and steep for 5–7 minutes depending on strength preference.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Strain the liquid into a pitcher, pressing to extract peach juices. Add lemon juice and remaining 4 cups of cold water.
  5. Cook to Perfection: No cooking here—just let the flavors meld as it chills.
  6. Finishing Touches: Chill in the fridge for 1–2 hours. Serve over ice with peach slices and mint if desired.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Pour into glasses, clink with a smile, and sip away your worries.

Notes

  • Use ripe peaches for the fullest flavor.
  • Let the tea cool before adding ice to avoid dilution.
  • Simple syrup can be used instead of granulated sugar for better blending.
  • Store in glass containers for optimal freshness.
