Tiny fluffy chocolate pancakes served in a bowl like cereal and drizzled with maple syrup, a playful and comforting breakfast treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium low heat and lightly grease it.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until smooth.
  5. Transfer batter to a squeeze bottle or piping bag.
  6. Pipe tiny dots of batter onto the skillet, leaving space between each.
  7. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes until bubbles form, then flip and cook another minute until set.
  8. Repeat with remaining batter.
  9. Serve warm in a bowl and drizzle with maple syrup.

Notes

  • Cook on medium low heat to prevent burning.
  • Do not overmix the batter.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
