Golden, crunchy, and sweet, this homemade honey popcorn is the perfect quick snack for movie nights or party treats. It comes together in just 15 minutes using pantry staples and delivers irresistible flavor with every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Heat a large pot over medium heat with a tablespoon of oil. Add a couple of test kernels and cover.
  2. Once they pop, add the rest of the kernels and cover. Shake the pot occasionally until popping slows down.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt butter, honey, brown sugar, and salt. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  4. Place the warm popcorn in a large mixing bowl and pour the honey mixture over it.
  5. Stir quickly to coat all the popcorn evenly before the syrup hardens.
  6. Spread the coated popcorn onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and let it cool completely.
  7. Once cooled, break into clusters and enjoy. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Use fresh popcorn kernels for best results.
  • If syrup begins to harden, gently reheat it before pouring.
  • Add cinnamon or drizzle with chocolate for a twist.
