Honey Garlic Chicken Jerky (Air Fryer Method)

Honey Garlic Chicken Jerky made in the air fryer is a sweet-savory, chewy snack that’s packed with flavor. It’s tender, protein-rich, and perfect for a healthier on-the-go bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1. 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, thinly sliced
  • 2. 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3. 2 tablespoons honey
  • 4. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 5. 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 6. 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 7. 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 8. 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions

  1. Slice chicken into thin strips, about 1/4-inch thick, for even drying.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, garlic, onion powder, black pepper, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Add chicken strips to the marinade, tossing to coat well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 180°F (80°C).
  5. Arrange chicken strips in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they don’t overlap.
  6. Air fry for 2.5–3 hours, flipping halfway through, until chicken is dry but still slightly pliable.
  7. Cool completely before storing in an airtight container.

Notes

  • For best flavor, marinate overnight.
  • Slice chicken against the grain for a tender chew.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
