Crispy golden toast layered with melted cheddar, topped with a silky sunny side egg and finished with a delicate drizzle of honey for the perfect sweet and savory bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large slice thick bread, about 1 inch thick
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 slice cheddar cheese, about 20 grams
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper

Instructions

  1. Toast the thick bread slice until golden and crisp on both sides.
  2. Crack the egg into a small bowl for easier transfer.
  3. Melt the butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  4. Place the cheese slice over the hot toast so it begins to soften.
  5. Slide the egg into the skillet, season with salt and black pepper, and cook until the whites are set and the yolk remains soft.
  6. Transfer the cooked egg onto the cheesy toast.
  7. Drizzle honey over the top and serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • Use thick cut bread to prevent sogginess and maintain a crisp texture.
  • Cook the egg on medium heat to keep the yolk creamy and avoid overcooking.
  • Add honey just before serving to keep its fresh flavor and shine.
