Juicy chicken pieces coated in a glossy honey butter glaze, tossed with fluffy white rice and finished with fresh parsley and sesame seeds. This sweet and savory skillet meal comes together in just 30 minutes and is perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite sized pieces
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 cups cooked white rice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Place a large skillet over medium heat and allow it to warm for a few minutes.
  2. In a bowl, toss the chicken pieces with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until evenly coated.
  3. Add the butter to the skillet and let it melt completely, coating the bottom of the pan.
  4. Add the seasoned chicken in a single layer and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and fully cooked.
  5. Stir in the honey and soy sauce, reduce the heat slightly, and simmer for 3 to 4 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken.
  6. Gently fold in the warm cooked white rice and stir until the rice is evenly coated in the glaze.
  7. Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley and sesame seeds, then serve warm.

Notes

  • Warm the rice before adding it to the skillet for better sauce absorption.
  • Reduce the honey slightly if you prefer a less sweet flavor.
  • Reheat leftovers gently with a splash of water to loosen the sauce.
