  • 2 tablespoons (25 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons (30 g) melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Lightly grease the skillet with a small amount of butter.
  6. Transfer the batter to a squeeze bottle or use a spoon. Outline a heart shape in the pan, then fill in the center.
  7. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until bubbles form and edges look set.
  8. Flip gently and cook for another 1 to 2 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Repeat with remaining batter and serve warm.
