  • 12. Gel food coloring (neon shades work best)
  • 13. Edible glitter or sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, cotton candy flavoring, and food coloring until well combined.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients, alternating with milk, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  6. Roll dough into small balls and place on prepared baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 8–10 minutes or until edges are just set. Cool completely before icing.
  8. For icing, whisk powdered sugar and tonic water until smooth. Divide into bowls and tint with neon gel colors.
  9. Dip cooled cookies into icing or drizzle over tops. Sprinkle with edible glitter if desired.
  10. For best glow effect, display cookies under a black light before serving.
