Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large baguette, sliced into 12 even pieces
  • 2 cups sliced fresh button mushrooms (about 200 grams)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (about 100 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms and cook for 5 to 7 minutes until browned.
  3. Stir in minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1 additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Arrange baguette slices on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
  5. Spoon the mushroom mixture evenly over each slice.
  6. Top each slice with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

  • For extra golden cheese, broil for the final 1 minute while watching closely.
  • Do not overcrowd mushrooms in the skillet to ensure proper browning.
  • The mushroom mixture can be prepared up to 2 days in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
