Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  3. Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Knead until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Divide dough into 12 equal pieces. Flatten each piece and place shredded mozzarella in the center. Seal tightly into a ball.
  6. Arrange on prepared baking sheet and bake for 18 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Mix melted butter with minced garlic and brush over warm breads. Sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Seal the dough well to prevent cheese from leaking during baking.
  • Use freshly grated mozzarella for better melting and flavor.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven for a few minutes to restore texture.
