Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking dish or sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  3. Stir in flour and salt, mixing into a dough. Knead until smooth, then cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
  4. In the meantime, mix softened butter and minced garlic. Set aside.
  5. Brush your baking dish with some garlic butter. Press rested dough evenly into the dish.
  6. Brush dough generously with garlic butter. Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheese on top.
  7. Bake for 18–22 minutes until cheese is bubbly and edges are golden. Broil for 1–2 minutes if desired.
  8. Remove from oven, sprinkle with green onions, and cool slightly. Cut into squares and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra crispy bottoms, preheat your baking dish slightly before pressing in the dough.
  • Add chili flakes or herbs to the butter for a flavorful twist.
  • Reheat leftovers in a toaster oven to maintain crispiness.
