A bright and refreshing frozen citrus mint soda made with fresh lemon and lime juice, mint leaves, and sparkling soda blended into a smooth icy slush for the ultimate cooling drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 12 fresh mint leaves
  • 3 cups ice cubes
  • 2 cups sparkling soda water, chilled
  • Lemon and lime slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add granulated sugar and 1/2 cup water to the saucepan and stir until the sugar dissolves, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and allow the simple syrup to cool completely.
  4. In a blender, add fresh lemon juice, fresh lime juice, cooled syrup, fresh mint leaves, and ice cubes.
  5. Blend until a smooth slushy consistency forms.
  6. Divide the slushy mixture evenly between serving glasses.
  7. Top each glass with chilled sparkling soda water and stir gently to combine without losing too much fizz.
  8. Garnish with lemon and lime slices and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Always use freshly squeezed citrus juice for the brightest flavor.
  • Add sparkling soda just before serving to maintain carbonation.
  • If the mixture is too thick, add a small splash of sparkling water and blend briefly.
  • The simple syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to five days.
