This flower shape soft milk bread is incredibly fluffy, lightly sweet, and beautifully golden on top. Shaped into soft pull-apart petals and baked to perfection, it is a comforting homemade bread that feels as special as it tastes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (420 grams)
  • 1 cup warm milk (240 milliliters)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (50 grams)
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (7 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (6 grams)
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (60 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons milk for brushing (30 milliliters)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius) and grease a round 8 or 9 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, combine warm milk, granulated sugar, and active dry yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until slightly foamy.
  3. Add the egg, all-purpose flour, and salt. Mix until a rough dough forms.
  4. Knead in the softened unsalted butter and continue kneading for 8 to 10 minutes until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
  5. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape each into a ball.
  6. Arrange the dough balls in a circular flower pattern inside the prepared pan. Cover and let rise for 45 to 60 minutes until doubled in size.
  7. Brush the tops gently with milk.
  8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown on top.
  9. Allow the bread to cool slightly before removing from the pan. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use room temperature ingredients for a smoother dough texture.
  • Avoid adding too much extra flour while kneading to keep the bread soft.
  • Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness and softness.
