Creamy rolled oats simmered in milk and topped with fresh figs, crunchy walnuts, honey, and a hint of cinnamon for a warm and comforting breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 medium fresh figs, sliced
  • 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Place a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add rolled oats, milk, ground cinnamon, and salt to the saucepan and stir well.
  3. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the oats thicken and become creamy.
  4. Remove from heat and let sit for 1 to 2 minutes.
  5. Spoon into bowls and top with sliced figs and chopped walnuts.
  6. Drizzle honey over the top and serve warm.

Notes

  • Toast the walnuts in a dry pan for deeper flavor.
  • Add a splash of milk when reheating to restore creaminess.
  • Use maple syrup instead of honey for a plant based option.
