Ingredients

Scale
  • 14 ounces firm tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat a nonstick skillet over medium heat or preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Toss the pressed and cubed tofu with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  3. Add olive oil to the skillet or lightly spray the air fryer basket.
  4. Arrange tofu cubes in a single layer without overcrowding.
  5. Cook for 12 to 15 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden and crisp on all sides.
  6. In a small bowl, mix minced garlic, soy sauce, chili sauce, and honey or maple syrup.
  7. Pour the sauce over the hot tofu and toss gently to coat.
  8. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

  • Press tofu for at least 15 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  • Cook in batches if necessary for maximum crispness.
  • Add the sauce just before serving to maintain the crunchy texture.
