These Crispy Jalapeño Corn Wontons are a delightful fusion of creamy, spicy, and sweet flavors all wrapped in a golden, crunchy shell—perfect for parties, snacks, or anytime cravings.

Ingredients

  • Corn Kernels: 1 cup (cooked or grilled)
  • Jalapeños: 2 small (seeded and finely diced)
  • Cream Cheese: 4 ounces (softened)
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese: 1/2 cup
  • Green Onions: 2 stalks (thinly sliced)
  • Garlic Powder: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Wonton Wrappers: 24 pieces
  • Vegetable Oil: For frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a bowl, mix corn, jalapeños, cream cheese, shredded cheddar, green onions, garlic powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Line a plate with paper towels or set up a wire rack for draining. Keep your sealed wontons covered to prevent drying.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Place 1 teaspoon of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, fold into a triangle or desired shape, and press firmly to seal.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Fry wontons in batches (4–6 at a time) for 2–3 minutes or until golden brown. Flip halfway if needed.
  6. Finishing Touches: Transfer cooked wontons to the lined plate or rack to drain excess oil. Let cool slightly before serving.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Plate them up with your favorite dipping sauce—sweet chili, lime crema, or spicy ranch. Enjoy while hot and crispy!

Notes

  • Seal wontons tightly using water to avoid filling leakage.
  • Do not overfill to prevent bursting during frying.
  • For a healthier version, air fry at 375°F for 7–8 minutes.
