A golden crispy cheese layer pull bread made with a crusty round loaf stuffed with mozzarella and cheddar, brushed with garlic butter, and baked until bubbly and perfectly crisp on top.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large round crusty bread loaf (450 to 500 grams)
  • 2 cups (200 grams) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup (100 grams) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 tablespoons (60 grams) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt.
  3. Place the bread loaf on the prepared baking sheet. Using a serrated knife, cut the loaf into a grid pattern without slicing through the bottom crust.
  4. Gently open each cut and brush the butter mixture deep into the layers.
  5. Stuff shredded mozzarella and cheddar evenly between all cuts, pressing the cheese down into the loaf.
  6. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and the top is golden and crisp.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving so the cheese sets just enough for easy pulling.

Notes

  • Do not cut all the way through the bottom crust to keep the loaf intact.
  • Use freshly shredded cheese for better melting and texture.
  • Serve immediately for the best crispy edges and gooey cheese pull.
