Creamy, crispy, and packed with flavor, this Cottage Cheese Pizza offers a refreshing twist on the classic favorite with a light, tangy, protein-rich topping that melts beautifully over golden crust.

Ingredients

  • Pizza Dough: 1 pound – The crispy-chewy base that holds it all together.
  • Tomato Sauce: 1/2 cup – Adds a rich, savory layer beneath the cheese.
  • Shredded Mozzarella: 1 cup – Melts into gooey perfection for that classic pizza pull.
  • Cottage Cheese: 3/4 cup – Adds creamy tang and moisture, making each bite decadent.
  • Cherry Tomatoes: 1/2 cup, halved – Bright, juicy bursts of flavor.
  • Fresh Basil: 1/4 cup, torn – A fragrant finish that lifts the dish.
  • Olive Oil: 1 tablespoon – Helps crisp the crust and adds richness.
  • Salt: 1/2 teaspoon – Enhances all the flavors.
  • Black Pepper: 1/4 teaspoon – Gives a mild, peppery kick.

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven now.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a bowl, mix cottage cheese with a pinch of salt and pepper. Set aside. Prepare all other toppings.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer to a baking sheet or pizza peel if using a stone.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Spread tomato sauce evenly over the dough, then scatter shredded mozzarella. Dollop spoonfuls of seasoned cottage cheese on top. Add cherry tomatoes and a drizzle of olive oil.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly and starting to brown. Broil for 1 minute if you like extra color.
  6. Finishing Touches: Remove from oven and sprinkle with torn basil leaves. Let rest for 5 minutes.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Slice, serve, and enjoy while warm and melty.

Notes

  • Drain cottage cheese to avoid soggy crust.
  • Use fresh herbs for extra flavor pop after baking.
  • Try a pesto or garlic oil base for variation.
