Golden, crisp waffles stuffed with sweet banana slices and melted chocolate chips, then drizzled with maple syrup for the ultimate cozy breakfast or brunch treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 medium ripe bananas, sliced
  • 3/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • Maple syrup, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle maker and allow it to fully heat.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  3. Lightly grease the waffle maker with butter or oil.
  4. Pour a portion of batter onto the waffle maker, add banana slices and chocolate chips, then cover with a little more batter to enclose the filling.
  5. Close the waffle maker and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.
  6. Carefully remove the waffle and let it rest briefly before serving.
  7. Serve warm with extra banana slices, chocolate chips, and maple syrup.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the batter, small lumps help keep the waffles fluffy.
  • Use ripe bananas for the best sweetness and texture.
  • Reheat leftovers in a toaster to restore crispness.
