A rich and elegant chocolate almond tart with a buttery crust, soft almond filling, and silky dark chocolate ganache topping. Perfect for gatherings or an indulgent homemade dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9 inch tart pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix 1 1/4 cups flour, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1/2 cup butter until crumbly. Press evenly into the tart pan to form the crust.
  3. In another bowl, beat remaining 1/4 cup sugar, 2 eggs, 1 cup almond flour, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the almond filling over the prepared crust and smooth the top evenly.
  5. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the filling is set and lightly golden. Allow to cool completely.
  6. Heat 1/2 cup heavy cream until just simmering, then pour over 6 ounces chopped dark chocolate. Let sit 1 to 2 minutes, then stir until smooth.
  7. Spread the ganache over the cooled tart and sprinkle with 1/4 cup sliced almonds. Let set before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Allow the tart to cool fully before adding the ganache for best texture.
  • Use high quality dark chocolate for deeper flavor.
  • Chill briefly before slicing for clean, sharp edges.
