Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 23 jalapeños, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease your loaf or bundt pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix yeast and sugar into warm milk. Let it sit until frothy (5–10 minutes).
  3. Stir in melted butter, salt, and flour. Knead until soft and elastic. Let rise for 1 hour.
  4. While rising, prep the pan and mix shredded cheese, jalapeños, and garlic powder.
  5. Punch down dough, divide into small balls, and toss in cheese mixture. Layer into pan.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  7. Brush with garlic butter and sprinkle parsley. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Use freshly shredded cheese for best melt.
  • Roast jalapeños briefly for a sweeter, milder flavor.
  • Let bread rest 5 minutes before pulling apart.
  • Try variations like adding mozzarella or baking in muffin tins.
