Cheese Steak Hamburger Helper

Cheese Steak Hamburger Helper is a hearty, one-pan dish inspired by the classic Philly cheesesteak. It combines seasoned ground beef, tender pasta, sautéed peppers and onions, and plenty of melted cheese for a comforting, quick dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1. 1 lb ground beef
  • 2. 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3. 1 medium onion, diced
  • 4. 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 5. 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 6. 2 cups beef broth
  • 7. 1 cup milk
  • 8. 8 oz elbow macaroni or small pasta
  • 9. 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 10. 1 teaspoon salt
  • 11. 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12. 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 13. 2 cups shredded provolone cheese (or mozzarella)
  • 14. 1/4 cup chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.
  2. Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened.
  3. Pour in beef broth and milk, then add pasta, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and paprika. Stir well.
  4. Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
  5. Stir in shredded cheese until melted and creamy.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Provolone gives the most authentic cheesesteak flavor, but mozzarella works in a pinch.
  • Use lean ground beef to avoid excess grease.
  • You can swap pasta for egg noodles for a different texture.
