Creamy, spicy, and full of flavor, this Cajun Chicken Pasta is a comforting fusion dish that brings bold southern seasoning to a rich pasta bowl.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into strips
  • 12 ounces penne pasta
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the penne pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Season the chicken strips with Cajun seasoning and drizzle with olive oil. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and sear for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté onions and bell peppers until soft. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  6. Add the cooked pasta and toss to coat. Return chicken to the skillet and mix everything together.
  7. Season with salt as needed and add a splash of reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce if too thick.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with extra Parmesan or fresh herbs.

Notes

  • Add a splash of lemon juice before serving for extra brightness.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best melt and flavor.
  • Adjust the Cajun spice level to your taste preference.
