Big Zuu’s Plantain Cheeseburgers take your classic burger to new heights with layers of juicy beef, melted cheddar, crispy bacon, and sweet fried plantain — all packed into a toasted brioche bun. It’s the ultimate fusion of bold, comforting flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 brioche burger buns
  • 4 ground beef patties (1/4 lb each)
  • 2 ripe plantains, sliced and fried
  • 4 cheddar cheese slices
  • 8 crispy bacon strips
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 thick tomato slices
  • 4 tablespoons burger sauce
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (optional)
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Toast the brioche buns in a skillet or toaster and set aside.
  2. Fry bacon strips until crispy, remove, and drain on paper towels.
  3. In the same pan, fry plantain slices until golden and caramelized, about 2–3 minutes per side. Set aside.
  4. Season and cook burger patties in the skillet for 3–4 minutes per side, adding cheddar slices in the last minute to melt.
  5. Spread mayonnaise and burger sauce on the toasted buns.
  6. Assemble each burger with lettuce, tomato, cheesy patty, bacon, plantain, and top bun.
  7. Serve hot with fries or plantain chips.

Notes

  • Use yellow plantains with black spots for best flavor and texture.
  • Add red onion or pickles for extra crunch and tang.
  • Swap beef for turkey or veggie patties if preferred.
