A bold, flavor-packed burger inspired by Big Zuu, stacked with juicy beef, sweet fried plantain, crispy bacon, melty cheddar, and creamy sauce inside a toasted brioche bun.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 brioche buns
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 ripe plantain, sliced
  • 8 slices streaky bacon
  • 4 leaves fresh lettuce
  • 4 slices tomato
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly oil the surface.
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 patties.
  3. Fry plantain slices in olive oil until golden and caramelized, about 2–3 minutes per side. Set aside.
  4. Cook burger patties for 4–5 minutes per side, adding cheddar slices during the last minute to melt.
  5. Toast brioche buns cut side down in the same pan until golden.
  6. Cook bacon until crispy and drain on paper towels.
  7. Mix mayonnaise and ketchup to create a creamy burger sauce.
  8. Assemble burgers: layer lettuce, tomato, patty with melted cheese, bacon, fried plantain, and sauce between toasted buns.
  9. Secure with a skewer if needed and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use ripe plantains with black spots for best flavor and caramelization.
  • Chill patties for 10 minutes before cooking to help them hold their shape.
  • To add heat, mix a bit of hot sauce into the burger sauce.
  • Grill the patties and plantains for a smoky flavor variation.
