Scale
  • 1 lb boneless chicken breast or beef sirloin, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 green bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 red onion, cut into wedges
  • 1 zucchini, sliced
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce (plus more for basting)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Wooden or metal skewers

Instructions

  1. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes.

  3. Thread meat and vegetables alternately onto skewers.
  4. Preheat grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
  5. Grill skewers for 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally, and brush with additional barbecue sauce during the last few minutes.
  6. Remove from grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Try shrimp, tofu, or mushrooms for variation.
  • Use a mix of sweet and spicy BBQ sauces for bold flavor.
