Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a donut pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gently combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Spoon the batter evenly into the prepared donut pan.
  6. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until lightly golden and set.
  7. Allow donuts to cool slightly, then brush with a bit of melted butter.
  8. Toss the warm donuts in the cinnamon sugar mixture until coated.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the batter to keep donuts soft.
  • Coat donuts while slightly warm so the sugar sticks well.
  • Store uncoated donuts and coat just before serving for best texture.
